Anita Vazquez Tibau

Anita Vazquez-Tibau is an author, scientific writer, researcher, and international advocate who has been working to ban the use of mercury in dentistry for over 20 years.
Since 2002, she has participated in what is now the Minamata Convention on Mercury Treaty and has been working with delegates around the world. In addition to writing and submitting research and text recommendations during the treaty process, she wrote and delivered the closing remarks of the treaty (2013) on behalf of the IAOMT.
She has co-authored various peer-reviewed scientific papers on dentistry, as well as articles that have been translated into multiple languages. Along with co-author, Dr. Blanche Grube, they presented their scientific posters at the International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP) in Rhode Island (2017) and Krakow, Poland (2019).
Ms. Vazquez-Tibau is a Researcher at the Center for Environmental and Toxicological Research Department at the University of Puerto Rico.
