Dr. Ira L. Shapira has dedicated his life to treating Sleep Disorders, TMJ Disorders, and chronic pain for 40 years. He has taught courses in his office to small groups of 4-6 dentists interested in learning Dental Sleep Medicine. He also holds four US Patents on methods and devices to for collecting stem cells from developing tooth buds (wisdom teeth).
He worked as a general dentist for 7 years for a large group in Wisconsin. During the 1980s, he also worked at a multidisciplinary pain relief center in Racine, WI with an osteopath and a neurologist for several years.
Dr. Shapira has lectured nationally and internationally for ICCMO in the USA, Canada, Russia, Argentina, and India. He has also lectured in Illinois for the Academy of General Dentistry on the treatment of sleep apnea.
