Abstract
Posture is critically important to the health of humans. Jaw development is a complex
process and is critically important to life. The Maxillo-Mandibular Complex includes the
Temporomandibular Joints, the atlas-occipital joints, the atlas-axis joint and the entire
spine.
The cause and effect of compensation can create muscular issues. These have been
well described by Travell in Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: A Trigger Point Manual.
A critical look at the full body compensations related to the Maxillo-Mandibular Complex
is the aim of this chapter. These compensations can also result in complications to all
body systems.
