Abstract
The differential diagnosis of idiopathic scoliosis constitutes a new approach for the stability of malocclusion treatment.
Children and teenagers with malocclusion and scoliosis were treated with a new functional approach using the new Cranial Postural Balance (CPB) appliance. This method is based on the principles of cranial osteopathy and eliminates the pathology of the bite at the level of its cause – the violation of the natural position of the cranial bones and postural disorders, especially scoliosis. All disorders were verified by DIERS, EMG, MMT, etc.
Using the new CPB appliance we can get the algorithm of a functional approach:
1. Determination of the priority area in the body for the treatment of the patient with malocclusion.
2. Checking the effect of the bite on the posture, foot, etc.
3. Testing patients using the muscles and ligaments of the maxillofacial region.
4. Obtaining a working algorithm for examining patients with a CPB appliance.
5. Obtaining practical recommendations for malocclusion treatment stability and body balance.
The CPB appliance promotes the proper development of the bones of the face and skull, which makes the face symmetrical and balanced. At the same time, the CPB appliance contributes to the increase of the respiratory tract, decreases sleep apnea and snoring, leads to the normalization of cranial structures, improves scoliosis and posture balance, which is one of the main guarantees of treatment stability. The correct bite is not only the key to the health of the teeth, but also of the whole body. It is necessary to monitor this from very early childhood.
