Abstract
This session will discuss the basic concepts behind homeopathy and how this can complement the dental care provided within a general practice setting and a person-centred approach to healthcare. Homeopathy is an individualised medicine using detailed case taking, analysis and treatment to bring about improvement in health. Likewise, periodontal disease presents and is experienced differently in every individual and needs management that addresses the circumstances of each patient. This session will also look at the value of integrative medicine and homeopathic strategies that are particularly useful for managing periodontal disease. This will also include examining the evidence and research behind homeopathy and its use in the care of patients with periodontal conditions.
